Since qualifying as a Solicitor, Sajidah’s focus has been in Public Family Law.

Sajidah has experience on a range of matters and often advises and represents parents and carers in relation to the Pre-Proceedings Process, Care and Supervision Order proceedings involving cases where there are allegations of serious abuse of sexual/physical/emotional harm, neglect, substance misuse, concerns of children beyond parental control and domestic violence. Sajidah has been commended for her sensitive, patient and understanding approach to these cases.

Sajidah also represents individuals in relation to Deprivation of Liberty proceedings and provides advice to extended family members in other matters such as Special Guardianship Orders. Sajidah has previous experience assisting senior solicitors at ITN with high profile and media reported cases involving radicalisation and non-accidental injuries.

Sajidah’s expertise also includes her advising and representing clients in private Children Act proceedings, Divorce proceedings, Transfer of Tenancy matters and Non-Molestation and Occupation Order proceedings.  

Sajidah regularly acts for a range of clients including, young and vulnerable clients with learning difficulties who require an intermediary, assisting and supporting them throughout each stage of their case, with the end goal to reunify families or keep them together. She also conducts advocacy.

Sajidah has been involved in two reported cases during her time at ITN Solicitors, including the cases of A, B and C (Children) (Appeal: Practice Direction 12J) (Rev 1) [2020] EWFC B53 (20 April 2020) in which the court allowed her client’s application to appeal  and concluded that the decision made by the Magistrates at a previous hearing was plainly wrong as the court did not have regard to Practice Direction 12J, the Order made at that hearing was set aside. Sajidah has also been involved in the case of London Borough of Richmond v The Mother & Ors [2023] EWFC 146 (30 August 2023)
