We are delighted to announce that Syed Naqvi has been named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 for 2022. It’s a very select list and Syed’s inclusion on the list means that he has been recognised both for excellence and relevance – these are all lawyers who are doing amazing work right now.
Although Syed has been recognised in particular for the work he has done recently, he has been doing great work for many years culminating in a successful challenge last year to the Home Office’s policy on the right to work for asylum seekers which the High Court deemed unlawful. The important work continues for Syed this year as he prepares for a Supreme Court challenge against the Government’s failure to provide a right of appeal to the courts in respect of refusals of full grants of indefinite leave to remain when a lower more conditional form of indefinite leave has been granted instead.
Syed’s inclusion in the list is a phenomenal achievement and came totally out of the blue because although Syed is a brilliant lawyer, he is very modest and he quietly goes about his work with great commitment, endeavour and application. He throws himself completely into his cases and concentrates on trying to get the best possible result that he can for his clients which he always achieves. Given the lack of fanfare with which he goes about his work, it is great that he has been recognised in this way and that he is in the company of some very senior lawyers in the Hot 100. We cannot think of a more deserving individual to be on the list. Well done, Syed!
